ABU & the Rhythm Partners is a collective of musicians and melomaniacs of different backgrounds with the objective of creating music that is artistic and soulful. This album is inspired by the sound of the founding Jamaican music labels like Federal, Studio One, Treasure Isle, and Randy's, as well as major US labels like Atlantic, Motown, and Stax.

As the name indicates in “Version Galore,” there is an abundance of reggae versions of American Soul and R&B classics, genres that were very popular in Jamaica in the sixties and seventies. Classic Soul melodies mixed with Reggae rhythms… a perfect cocktail.

This LP is comprised of five short vocal stylings and five dub versions in a showcase format with 10 songs of love and hope for these uncertain times.

From Soul to Reggae: Version Galore

From the realm of their kingdom, ABU reunites with Rhythm Partners to create this cover album. Once the souls were chosen, los socios del ritmo were charged with the musical reimagining for this journey of love and hope in these uncertain times. It is a soulful experience of Jamaican landscapes and aromas compiled of five short vocal stylings and their five dub versions to showcase the purest style of this musical voyage.

Bass Culture Players is a roots music project settled in Madrid (Spain). Puppa Shan leads this approach to the different music styles and culture rooted and developed in Jamaica and U.K. during the 70´s and 80´s.

Discoinferno Studio is where music production takes place, using analogical equipment and traditional techniques.
