Bass Culture Players ft. Djemetta - Focused on Dub

from The Mess + Dub by Djemetta / Bass Culture Players

/

about

Djemetta warms his voice to start with a wisper, as suggestive as tricky, as he rapidly displays a straight and solid "speech" which perfectly fits in Discoinferno productions. The sweetness and softness of his voice is backed by a calm but firm riddim, slightly stretched by Bass Culture Players.

Djemetta´s voice arises softly, but vanishes disturbly with a pretended innocent tone which wraps a conscious complaint about radio-formulas and MTV´s, the petty evidence of a bigger fraud.

Don’t tell me that you have never suspected

If the sponsor of the song is the responsible of debt

As sober and concluding as Djemetta´s vocals, Puppashan´s dub version keeps the beat on a persistent bass line strenghtened by agil and powerful percussions. Djemetta´s phrases reappear and vanish again in a suspicious atmosphere, evidence of this unbearable falseness.
